MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons
That this council condemns the system known as Direct provision and calls for the Direct provision system to be scrapped and a new procedure based on a Human rights approach be put in place and that an apology is given to the people that have been subjected to this system.
REPORT:
If the motion is passed it will be brought to the attention of Minister Aodhán Ó Ríordáin, Minister for State at the Department of Justice and Equality, and Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, with special responsibility for Equality, New Communities and Culture.
