QUESTION NO. 9

QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

“To ask the Cheif Executive how many NAMA owned houses are in the Clondalkin area and what efforts have been made to secure these for Homeless Families?”

REPLY:

For purpose of clarification NAMA does not own the properties, the agency owns the loans attaching to the properties.  However, in a number of cases loans  have been enforced by the Receivers and details of these appear on NAMA’s website www.nama.ie

To date, South Dublin County Council has not acquired any NAMA owned properties in the Clondalkin area.

The Council, through its housing construction, acquisitions, (to include Part V, NARPS – Special Purpose Vehicle – NAMA together with portfolio of properties purchased on SDCC behalf by the Housing Agency) RAS HAP & Leasing Programmes continues to acquire properties to respond to the needs of homeless families (Homeless Priority List) and and those families assessed for inclusion on the social housing list.
