QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

To ask that the Chief Executive provide a report on 2014 vacant houses , what was the time line house became vacant and became re used? How many houses currently lie vacant and what are the envisaged time line for each of these to become useable housing units?

REPLY:

198 vacant dwellings were upgraded in the South Dublin County Council administrative area in the period of  31/01/2014-31/12/2014. The average turnaround time for these dwellings was 10.6 weeks.

At 31/12/2014 there were 42 houses vacant in the County, 20 of which were in the North of the Naas Road area and 22 in the South of the Naas Road area.  It is envisaged that it will take a similar timeframe  for completion as in 2014.
