Tidy Towns fund

MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

MOTION NO. 15

MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons

That the Chief Executive presents a report about the Tidy Towns €48,000 which was to have been carried over from last year and is not now available. It’s gone -where? It was promised that this would be carried over and the Tidy Towns were relying on it.

REPORT:

As outlined to the Area Committee at its last meeting, the transfer of the Tidy Towns function to the Community Services Team, in effect, did not come about until earlier this year.

On reviewing the financial records, there were no other approved projects listed for charging against this code in 2014 for the remaining expenditure. Such projects when submitted will be considered in the context of the 2015 programme.

As confirmed at last months meeting of the Area Committee all Tidy Towns Groups were requested to submit their bank details etc to enable the payment of the Seed Grant for 2015 to be paid. The Council is still awaiting the return of this information in some cases. The Project Grant process is still scheduled to commence shortly.
