Cllr Francis Timmons – Independent Voice

Anti Racism stickers

MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

Wednesday, October 21, 2015

QUESTION NO 1

QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

“To ask for an update report on anti racism stickers for Clondalkin area, a committee has met and would like to use them during Social Inclusion week as part of an anti racism project for Clondalkin area.

REPLY:

As Members are aware the matter was the subject of recent discussions at a Clondalkin Area Committee meeting and it was agreed that an initiative involving the production of an appropriate message on a sticker would be considered particularly in the context of the next European Week against Racism. It was noted that similar initiatives had been undertaken previously.

To date no submissions have been received regarding the appearance or design of such a sticker and it is therefore not possible to include this matter in the programme for Social Inclusion Week which this week takes place from Monday 16th November to Sunday 22nd November 2015.

If no submissions are received within the next number of weeks the Council will proceed to prepare a design for a sticker and will produce same for the next European Week Against Racism
