Having worked within the Disabilities, Homeless and Probation services for much of my adult life I have Thirty years experience in dealing with issues that affect families and our communities. As a teacher I gave advice and knowledge to students looking after elderly people. I have Real experience in real situations
I am committed to local issues , Previously I was a founder and committee member of Clonburris Youth Club for over 10 years ,a committee member on Clondalkin Community Council and PRO – Peamount Hospital Parents and Friends.
I am a Peace Commissioner appointed by Minister for Justice Alan Shatter TD for the County of Dublin and the counties immediately adjoining that county.
As an Independent I am very proud to have been first elected in 2014 and than again in 2019 to represent the people of the Clondalkin Area on South Dublin County Council. I have an Honours degree in Social Care. I am passionate about social Justice Issues.
As an elected representative, I was am a member of the Environment SPC (previously I was on the Arts, Culture, Gaeilge, Heritage and Libraries SPC) I was elected Clondalkin Area Chair for 2015-2016 , 2018-2019 and 2021-2022
I am on the Dublin Region Horse Welfare Working Group and also on the Review of Legislation/Bye Laws sub group. I am also on the Scrambler and Quad Regional Forum and working group.
I am also a Voluntarily a member of many Boards, I am the Current Chairperson of the Bawnogue Community Centre and the Chairperson of Dublin West MS Ireland (Brendan Kenna) Branch, I am also on the board of the Four Districts day Care Centre Neilstown Community Centre and Quarryvale Family Resource Centre. I am also on the sub committees of the ”Staffing” and ”Finance” for the Clondalkin Traveller Development Group ,
I run and founded and am chair of the ”Clondalkin St Patricks day parade” and ”Clondalkin Helping Homeless” and am actively involved in the ”Clondalkin Fairtrade town” Steering Committee. I am Proprietor of ‘’United Survivors’’ (Trademark @ 256719)
I am a former Chairperson of the “Clondalkin Handcraft & Horticultural Show” and Knckmitten Community centre and a former board member of the Christine Buckely Centre. I was Involved with ”Clondalkin Buddy Bench”.
