QUESTION NO. 5

QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

“To ask the Chief Exectuive for a report on SDCC Anti-social behaviour statistics for the following estates;

Lealand, Lindisfarne, Melrose, Denasrath, Kilcronan, Kilmahudrick, Grangeview, Oldcastle, Castlegrange.”

REPLY:

It is not currently possible to break down the Anti-Social Statistics by Estate without manually examining the records on a day by day basis.  Given the current resources available this is not possible at this time.

However it is possible to confirm that we are currently dealing with the following range of issues within these estates;

  • Parties;
  • Reported street fighting;
  • Suspicion of drug dealing;
  • Dirty gardens
  • Reported children throwing stones at cars
  • Inter neighbour dispute
  • Damage to property
  • Shooting;
  • Youths congregating in gangs causing disturbance;
  • Succession of tenancy issues;
  • Complaints about noise from children kicking football
