QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

To ask for an update report on Motion 4 from June 15 and Q13 from April ’15 ?

(“To ask the Chief Executive to look at the use of our Civic offices in Clondalkin to promote diversity, inclusion and equality in displays and will aim to mark events in our Civic Offices and that the Social Inclusion department of SDCC to be involved in this, to look at the use of the downstairs meeting room as a room that could be used to hold such events and upgrade this room as a civic events room? Also the notice board in main lobby to promote such events?”)

REPLY:

The Council’s Annual Social Inclusion Week will take place from the 16th -22nd November 2015 and there are currently displays in the Clondalkin Civic Offices promoting upcoming events that promote diversity, inclusion and equality. A number of events are planned in the Clondalkin Electoral Area, please see link to brochure below.

Clondalkin Civic Offices is a public office for local people to access council services and a place of work. It is not suitable for use as an event space on a regular basis. A number of excellent council owned facilties exist in the Clondalkin area including Community Centres where the purpose is to facilitate local events and it is recommended that the councillor make contact with these centres which are more suitable for events.
