MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons
That the Clondalkin Area Committee fully support the Clondalkin Equine Club and as a Group write to South Dublin County Council and ask that this worthwhile and much needed club be funded and supported by SDCC.
REPORT:
There have been ongoing discussions between elected members of the Clondalkin electoral area and Council officials from a number of departments in relation to the Clondalkin Equine Club (CEC) proposal.
Environmental Services Department has also been in discussion with other statutory bodies in relation to this and other horse projects.
Following a recent meeting with Clondalkin Area Committee members the Council has committed to examining the various elements of the proposal submitted by the CEC in the context of site suitability, welfare issues, set up costs, ongoing operational costs, ongoing support structures etc.
It is anticipated that we will be in a position to provide a more comprehensive response in the coming weeks.
