QUESTION NO. 19

QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

Following a report about a house in council ownership in Clondalkin that has cost €608,000 so far, I would like to ask is there any other property caught up in legal procedures within South Dublin County Council? also to identify any land or property in this situation and what costs have been so far in any such property.

REPLY:

It is assumed that the property the Member is referring to is located at St. Patricks Park, Clondalkin. The circumstances surrounding this property are quite unique and have not been repeated elsewhere.

Over the years the Council have made Compulsory Purchase and Other Orders to acquire lands or wayleaves to facilitate particular projects. The acquisition of these plots/wayleaves would by their nature entail legal procedures to complete the transactions which may be lengthy in duration to complete.
