QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

“To ask for the Chief Executive to issue a report into what is proposed to deal with the excessive illegal dumping at Quarryvale – constantly on the road from the arc and also in the Greenfort Gardens, Park and Lawn areas. Would the use of cameras be considered in these areas?”

REPLY:

The following is an update outline of the issues referred to:

The roads in the vicinity of the Arc Cafe Bar were inspected in early July and found to be very moderately littered with only isolated evidence of windblown litter

Shancastle Lawns – Litter Pick was completed W.C. 06.07.15, and further picks were scheduled W.C. 20.07.15

Shancastle Crescent – Litter Pick was completed W.C. 06.07.15 and further picks were scheduled W.C. 20.07.15

Shancastle Avenue – Litter Pick at entrance completed W.C. 06.07.15, and further picks were W.C. 20.07.15

Shancastle Park – dumped black refuse bag inside boundary hedge facing Aldi – overflowing litter bin and dumped black refuse bag at bin inside boundary hedge facing Homestore.  These were removed and another litter pick undertaken W.C. 20.07.15

Greenfort Avenue – dumped black refuse bags at entrance on left at ESB boxes. Removed w.c. 06.07.15

Greenfort Park – litter pick at cul de sac at ‘infill housing’ removed W.C. 06.07.15

Greenfort Park – general sweep – Generally sweeping is completed on a quarterly basis.
