COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE
Wednesday, September 21st, 2016
MOTION NO. 2
MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons
“That this committee asks that the area at the entrance to Lindisfarne estate that has been used for bonfires yearly is upgraded and trees planted.”
REPORT:
The Public Realm Section does not reinstate bonfires sites in the county. It would not be practicable or a good use of resources to reinstate bonfire sites on an annual basis only to have the same site used the following year. Once the remnants of the bonfire have been removed these locations tend to regenerate themselves without any interference. There are no current proposals to plant trees at this location.
