MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons
“That this committee demands that a safety audit be done in Newcastle to determine safety needs especially for the Glebe estate and children going to school along this busy road.”
REPORT:
This road has been assessed and consideration is being given to the provision of an additional school warden at this location.
A traffic calming ramp has already been installed to mitigate the risk on this road and remaining civil works i.e. dishings etc. will be completed shortly.
A meeting was also held with the school to discuss the results of a walkability audit.
